What is a fractional CFO?+
A fractional CFO is an experienced chief financial officer who works with your business part-time. You get the same strategic guidance, forecasting and financial leadership as a full-time CFO, sized to what your business needs today and at a fraction of the cost.
How is this different from a bookkeeper or accountant?+
Bookkeepers and accountants record what has already happened and keep your books accurate and compliant. A CFO looks forward: turning those numbers into forecasts, cash plans, pricing and growth decisions, and preparing you for raises, loans or a sale.
How much time will you spend with our business?+
It depends on your needs. Many clients work with us a few days a month, with more support around key moments like budgeting season, a fundraise or a transaction. We agree on the right level together and adjust it as your business changes.
How much does it cost?+
Pricing depends on the scope and time involved, and it's typically a fraction of the cost of a full-time CFO. After a free consultation, we'll send a clear proposal with no surprises.
Do you work with clients remotely?+
Yes. We work with clients across time zones, meeting by video and sharing files securely, so where you're based is never a barrier.
What accounting software do you work with?+
We work with all major accounting and reporting platforms, including QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite and Sage Intacct, so there's no need to switch systems to work with us.
How quickly can you get started?+
Usually within a couple of weeks of our first conversation, or sooner if your situation calls for it. If you're facing a deadline, such as a lender request or an investor meeting, let us know and we'll move at your pace.
How do you keep our financial information confidential?+
We treat your financial information as strictly confidential and are happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement before reviewing your numbers. We can share files through whichever secure method you prefer, including encrypted email or your own document portal.
Is there a long-term contract?+
No long-term commitment is required. Ongoing engagements are typically month to month, so you stay with us because the work is valuable, not because you're locked in. We also take on project-based work, such as building a financial model, preparing for a raise or getting ready for a sale.
